Jay is gone

Hi all, Jay has been sent to Iraq. He's still traveling
there at the moment. He just left on Monday.
We took this picture literally just hours before he left.
We miss you Jay!

Here's pics from the latest concert we went to: Boys II Men. They were good. It was a hot day and those guys were sweating a lot!

Here's the pictures from the Good Charlotte part of the show.
I just had to include a video of the audience. I've never seen so many people
at a Six Flags concert before. There were so many people jumping the whole place was shaking!

Here's some pictures from the Metro Station, Good Charlotte concert. Ryan and Madison were enjoying themselves at the concert.

This was the second act for the Katy Perry concert. The black guy is named Schwayze and the white guy is Cisco Adler. For an eye scarring experience, google Cisco Adler's balls! They have a song called "Buzzin'" that I'd actually heard before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY1rbOM7vbg

Six Flags concerts

So we've been going to Six Flags a lot this summer. Ryan is finally big enough to ride The Buccaneer by himself. He's been riding it every chance he can. We've also been going to a lot of concerts. I believe we went to 4 concerts this past week.

Here's some pictures of the Katy Perry concert. She had 2 opening acts.
The first one here was a rap group called Tyga. They have some Lime and Coconut song. I hadn't ever heard anything from them.

Swimming lessons

All summer long, the kids have been taking swimming lessons. Here's some pics and videos I took at one of their lessons.

Brand new baby birds

I almost forgot this picture of the dove
babies. This was when they were
first hatched.

Central Park

So we finally made it to Central Park. One of the coolest parks I've ever been in. There were tons of people performing and just chilling out. We found a really pretty fountain and hung out around it for a bit. Then we found Strawberry Fields and there was a group of guys performing Beatles songs. It was totally awesome. Of course it wouldn't be NYC without the random crazy yelling out stuff in the middle of the song. The crazy guy is the one who put all the flowers around the Imagine sidewalk so I guess I should thank him for that. I thought it was really pretty.

At FAO Schwartz, they have the big piano that was featured in the movie "Big" that starred Tom Hanks. We lucked out and were there when the workers performed on the piano. We could have played on the piano, but the lines were too long. Maybe another time! I do have to apologize for the scary old guy on the right who turns his head at the end of the first video. Then all you see is scary old guy face!

Of course when you come to NYC you have to go to FAO Schartz! It's a huge toy store with all kinds to neat toys. They have a huge candy selection too. They had 2 gigantic toy soldiers in the candy section. They were made with like 30 or 50,000 jelly beans. They were huge! They had a big Harry Potter section with candy, costumes and stuff. Pretty cool!
The huge dragon in the window was neat.

New York City trip

We went to New York City last weekend and spent just about the whole day there. We walked to Times Square and I was just telling Jay how we needed to keep an eye out for the Naked Cowboy when we saw him!
Then we went to eat at a restaurant called Mars 2112. It's all Mars themed with people dressed as Martians walking around talking to you. The atmosphere was neat, but the food was way overpriced and just kind of blah. We won't ever eat there again. Not worth the price.

Animals

Here's some pics I took of the pets. Missy looked so cute sleeping with her tongue sticking out. And it was sweet that Bubba and Missy were sleeping side by side.
The other pictures are of a dove and her babies. The doves built a nest right next to our back gate. The mom sat on the nest for around 18 days before the eggs hatched. Since the babies hatched, they've been just about doubling in size every day. I don't know if you can tell in the pics, but one pic was taken the day after they hatched and the other was taken the next day. They doubled in size in one day.

Stephenie Meyer and Justin Furstenfeld

So here's some pictures I took at the concert and right afterwards. We were one of the lucky ones to have snagged a seat at the concert. I'd say it was probably 75% standing room and 25% of the people got to sit. We'd been walking all over NYC all day so our feet needed a rest. After the concert, the line was super long to get an autograph from Stephenie, but there was no way I was leaving without one. We didn't get our autographs will around 11 p.m. Poor Stephenie had been signing autographs since around 8:30! I knew we were going to miss my Barnes and Noble bookstore's midnight release party so we decided to stick around in NYC, get Breaking Dawn there, then catch the next available train back to New Jersey. We got our books at Penn Plaza's Borders, which is right beside our train station. We had our books by 12:30 and by 12:42, we were on our train back to Jersey. We managed to catch the next to last train of the night. We had a really fun time. It was a once in a lifetime experience! We read our books on the train ride home. I finished my book the other day. It wasn't what I expected, but it was a good book and Stephenie wrapped up her story in a neat and tidy bow. I recommend every one read her books. And don't forget Twilight the movie comes out December 12, 2008!!!
