We saw Carel Struycken from the Addams Family movies. He played Lurch. And we saw Zach Galligan from Gremlins. Of all the people we talked to that day, he was the least friendly. He seemed to rather just sit and not talk to any body. That was a disappointment to us because I've seen and loved 4 of his movies.

Just a reminder to everyone. You can click on any of these pictures to see a larger verison of them. Thanks and enjoy!

Chiller Theatre part 2

It's Rusty from National Lampoon's European Vacation. His real name is Jason Lively.
We saw Erin Gray who played Wilma Deering on Buck Rogers.
We saw Edward James Olmos from Battle Star Galactica.
Debi Derryberry does the voice of Jimmy Neutron. She was doing all her different voices for Ryan and Madison.
When we walked into the tent where some of the celebrities were signing, we saw Amanda Plummer. She played Honey Bunny on Pulp Fiction. She's also Christopher Plummer's daughter. He was Captain Von Trapp from The Sound of Music. When we walked in, she saw that Madison was wearing a Twilight t-shirt. She yelled out "Twilight!" We chatted with so many people because of Madison's shirt.

Chiller Theatre

This past weekend, we went to the coolest convention! It's called Chiller Theatre and it's held in Parsippany, NJ twice a year. You go there and meet various celebrities. Get their autograph and picture taken with them. They had a ton of people at this spring's event. I got to meet 2 people from movies I love. Christopher Atkins from The Blue Lagoon, but that's not the movie I love him for. It's The Pirate Movie I love. It's a different take on the Pirates of Penzance musical. Saw that movie as a kid and just loved it! So I took my DVD and had Christopher sign it. He was so nice and talked to us for a good while about how that movie has taken off to cult status levels now. The other person I got my picture taken with was E.G. Daily. She co-starred in my all time favorite movie, Valley Girl. I'm sure you can tell by my face that I'm close to tears at getting to meet her. Isn't she just a tiny little thing?! She's been in tons of stuff and does a lot of character work. She did the voice of Buttercup of the PowerPuff Girls, Babe: The Pig in the City, and Baby Mumbles from Happy Feet.

They had people from all kinds of movies and TV shows there. There was Walter Koenig who played Chekov on Star Trek. Then beside him was Michael Dorn who played Worf on Star Trek.
We saw Pamelyn Ferdin who did the voice of Lucy on the Peanuts shows plus she was the voice of Fern on Charlotte's Web. I love that movie!
We saw Lou Ferrigno, The Incredible Hulk. When I was growing up, I used to watch that show on an old black and white tv in my bedroom. It wasn't till years later I discovered the Hulk was green!
They had Amanda Pays and John Wesley Shipp from The Flash tv show. They both look pretty good still. And we saw Cindy Pickett. She played Ferris Bueller's mom.

Kids at the park

Here's some pictures of the kids playing at the new Wacky World park on base. The old park was all wood. It was neat, but some one would always get a splinter there. Now the park is like all the other parks. It is big though. The slide that Ryan is going down hurts. All 3 of those slides hurt!

Clerks sight seeing

As you all may know, the director, Kevin Smith, is from New Jersey and he has filmed some of his movies in the area. We went and checked out some of the locations the other weekend. We went to Leonardo, NJ and checked out the Quick Stop where Clerks was filmed. I took a picture of the video store, RST Video, that's next door to the Quick Stop. The video store is closed now, but the videos are still on the shelves. We bought some snacks at the Quick Stop. Word to the wise, it's a cash only store! Then we went over to Red Bank, NJ to Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. It's a neat comic book store that Kevin Smith owns. He has several different props from his movies in the store on display. I didn't take any pics of them because I didn't want to tick off the workers, but I did take this pic of the outside of the store.

Random pics

I took a picture of Madison with the pets on her. She loves to have them sit on her. And Ryan likes to sleep in the dog bed, which the animals aren't too crazy about. For Jay's 35th birthday cake, I asked him what kind he wanted and he said chocolate. So that's what I made. Chocolate cake, with chocolate icing and German chocolate shavings on top. When it was time to blow out the candles, Jay blew real hard. We had the lights off and only had the candles to see by. When I turned on the lights, we discoved Jay blew so hard, he blew the chocolate shavings off the cake. I'm still finding little bits of chocolate in the kitchen 2 months later!
We had a pretty big snow this year. Got a snow day out of it. Then the snow stuck around for a couple of weeks. I was so tired of looking at snow. It's still not warm enough here to feel like spring to me. I'll be so glad when it finally decides to get warm and stay warm!

Philadelphia Zoo

My brother, Brian, came up here and visited with us for a week. While he was up here, we all went to the Philadelphia Zoo, the first zoo in the United States. It's a pretty cool zoo. How such a cute baby porcupine turns into the not so cuddly adult is beyond me. The baby was so cute, I wanted one! I loved their big cats and monkeys. The blue eye lemurs were weird looking. I had to take a picture of one of the monkeys. It had Pamela Anderson sized boobs. Jay couldn't stop looking at it! When you leave the zoo, you drive by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. That's the place in the movie, "Rocky" that Sylvester Stalone climbed up the big flight of stairs while the Rocky music "Gonna Fly Now" was playing. So the museum has got a statue of Rocky out front.

Christmas 2008

Hi all, I realize it's been awhile since I updated the blog so I thought I'd do that now. Here are our Christmas pictures from this past Christmas. I had a picture of the tree, but don't know what I did with it. I'm happy with how the outside turned out since I had to put up everything by myself with Jay in Iraq. So glad he's back now!
