Madison's hair and award

Earlier this year, Madison had some of her artwork selected to be displayed at Burlington County College. We went there and she received an award for having her art selected. The most recent thing with Madison is her new haircut. She had at least 10 inches cut off. She'd been bugging me for awhile now to get her hair cut so about 2 weeks ago, I took her in to the barber shop and got it all cut off of her. It's a little shorter than she wanted, but it's hair- it'll grow out again.

Danity Kane concert

We bought season passes to Six Flags again this year. We go so much, we really get our money's worth out of them. So here we are at the first concert of the year- Danity Kane and Cherish. Danity Kane has a hit song "Damaged" and Cherish has a song "Killa" out. I can't remember the boy band's name. It was called Odyssey, but not spelled like that. None of these groups played any instruments. Just sang and danced around. It was still a fun concert. We're looking forward to more concerts this year.

Saturday Night Live trip

We got to go to NYC without the kids to see a showing of Saturday Night Live. The guest host was Ashton Kutcher and musical guest was Gnarls Barkley. It was awesome! Then we walked around a little bit outside Rockefeller Center and checked out the people ice skating. There are so many people out and about in NYC at all hours. These pictures were taken at 10:30 at night and there were a ton of people ice skating. Never mind the tons of people walking around the streets.

Madison class trip

I've gone on a few trips this year with Madison's classroom. On this trip, we sailed on the A.J. Meerwald- New Jersey's official schooner ship. It was a very informative trip. The kids all got to work together to put up the sails. Very neat.

NYC trip

Here's a couple pics from our trip to NYC when Mom was up for her visit. These pictures were taken in front of the NYC Public Library. We saw lots of sights that day. We walked and walked for hours. We jokingly referred to it as the "New York City Marathon"!

Easter visit

Jay was TDY during the Easter holiday so my mom came up for a visit. Here are the kids with mom on Easter. I took Mom to the Atlantic Ocean. It was cold, but I made sure she touched the water. It was the first time Mom had ever seen the ocean.

Springtime in bloom

Here's a couple of pictures I took around here. The bleeding hearts are in my backyard. So pretty! The trees in bloom are all along the road as you enter base housing. The trees were only in bloom for a week or so, but it is beautiful while it lasts. Now the trees are all green.

Playing at the park

Here's a couple of pics of the kids playing at the park on base. It was during their spring break and was still kind of chilly here then.

Budweiser horses

We had some excitement at McGuire AFB a couple of months ago.
The Budweiser Clydesdale horses came to the base.
It was neat to see those huge horses.

Harlem Globetrotters

A few months ago, when Jay was TDY, I took the kids
to see the Harlem Globetrotters. We had a lot of fun.

Ryan wears glasses now

Here's a picture I took a while ago of Ryan wearing his new glasses. He has my eyes- near sighted with astigmatism. Poor kid! At least he looks cute in his glasses!

Too funny!

Here's another video of Ryan I found. He was too funny! When he was still wearing diapers, he liked to make his diaper shake back and forth. We'd catch him doing it all the time.

old video of Ryan

Here's just a random video I came across a few minutes ago. It's of Ryan when he was 2-ish years old. Maybe 3. Just wanted to share since no one, but us have seen this video before.

lunar eclipse and science museum

Here's my photo of the lunar eclipse. It's only about halfway done, but I knew if I didn't get a picture then, I'd forget and miss the whole thing.
We went to Philly the other day to the Academy of Natural Sciences. It's a really neat place. They have a butterfly room you can go in and there's all these big beautiful butterflies flying around. There was a room with a huge stuffed polar bear. I was trying to get the kids to act like they were scared in front of it. Ryan just looks bored.
Last picture is of the kids at a birthday party. The place the party was held had a huge room that was like one big ball pit. Balls were all over the floor, flying across the room and falling from the ceiling! The kids had a lot of fun in there.

Madison Christmas concert

Before I forget! Here is a video from Madison's Christmas concert this year. She is in the choir.

more sledding fun

Here are some videos of the kids going down a hill by themselves. The way Ryan runs up the hill cracks me up. He's too funny. Madison is the only one who went sledding down the hill this way. It looked kind of painful to me!

sledding around base

These are some videos of us sledding around the base where we could find a nice hill to go down. Here is a video of Madison and Ryan sledding down a hill for the first time. Jay even went down the hill. His giggle when he reaches the bottom cracks me up every time!

Sledding at home- Madison's turn

Here's a video of Madison getting pulled around by Jay.

sledding!

In the part of Arkansas we're from, we don't get much snow. Mainly just ice storms. So we were tickled to be able to play in the snow. Here we are playing in our front yard. Jay made a little ramp for the kids. Jay was wore out after playing with the kids!
