Stephenie Meyer and Justin Furstenfeld

So here's some pictures I took at the concert and right afterwards. We were one of the lucky ones to have snagged a seat at the concert. I'd say it was probably 75% standing room and 25% of the people got to sit. We'd been walking all over NYC all day so our feet needed a rest. After the concert, the line was super long to get an autograph from Stephenie, but there was no way I was leaving without one. We didn't get our autographs will around 11 p.m. Poor Stephenie had been signing autographs since around 8:30! I knew we were going to miss my Barnes and Noble bookstore's midnight release party so we decided to stick around in NYC, get Breaking Dawn there, then catch the next available train back to New Jersey. We got our books at Penn Plaza's Borders, which is right beside our train station. We had our books by 12:30 and by 12:42, we were on our train back to Jersey. We managed to catch the next to last train of the night. We had a really fun time. It was a once in a lifetime experience! We read our books on the train ride home. I finished my book the other day. It wasn't what I expected, but it was a good book and Stephenie wrapped up her story in a neat and tidy bow. I recommend every one read her books. And don't forget Twilight the movie comes out December 12, 2008!!!

NYC trip Breaking Dawn concert

So, last weekend was AWESOME!!!! My friend, Miranda, and I went to NYC to see Stephenie Meyer and Justin Furstenfeld in concert. Justin is the lead singer/song writer of the band Blue October. Stephenie Meyer is the author of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Her book Breaking Dawn was just released August 2nd at midnight so we were in NYC to see her right before we got her new book. We didn't get to go to the concert till later in the day so we killed some time by going to Madame Tussaud's and finding a place to eat. Miranda and I wanted pizza and when we spotted this restaurant, Bella Vita, we knew it was the perfect place to eat. The main character in Stephenie's novels is named Bella. The restaurant didn't disappoint. The pizza was delicious! We ate every last bit of it. After we ate, then it was time to head over to stand in line for the concert. The line was so long. I heard someone say the line was over 2 city blocks long. I know it wrapped around the building at least twice! Crazy! And some people had been in line since 7 a.m. We got in line at around 4:30 p.m. and we were lucky to get in line when we did because the line was really super long behind us!

I came downstairs a couple of days ago and this is what I saw. Missy sleeping on 2 bean bags. I don't know if you can see it, but her tongue is sticking out. It always sticks out when she sleeps. I thought she looked too cute!

Six Flags

We went to Six Flags the other day. It had been raining all day so we almost didn't even go. We went any ways and the day turned out perfect! The rain had cooled off the temperature and it was the least crowded we'd ever seen at Six Flags. We were able to go on any rides we wanted and there were no lines! It was awesome! And Ryan was so tickled. He was finally tall enough to ride a big ride without an adult. He rode The Buchaneer, which is a pirate ship that rocks back and forth. He looked terrified while the ride was going, but he said he was so happy to get to ride it.

dove nest

About a week ago, I noticed a dove building a nest right beside our back gate. I thought at first the bird was scared off, but it was back the next day making the nest bigger. 2 days later, she had laid 2 eggs in the nest and she's been sitting on those eggs ever since. We try and be really careful when we come and go through the gate so that we don't disturb her. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, we'll get to see some baby doves.

Concert time again! Here are pictures I took at the Natasha Bedingfield concert we went to at Six Flags last night. She put on a really good show. I hope you like these concert pictures I post because I have like 6 more concerts to go to this summer! HAHAHA!
Here's a couple of videos of the fireworks from the 4th of July here at Fort Dix. The 2nd video is of the grand finale fireworks. I managed to catch the last bit on video.

Fireworks and concert

Fort Dix had a big fireworks display this year. They opened the base to the public and had a concert before the fireworks. R&B singer Keyshia Cole performed for the crowd.

Almost forgot about these pictures! I put blue hair dye in Madison's hair for the Blondie concert and found her a t-shirt with Debbie Harry on it. Ryan fell asleep during the concert. Poor Jay held him the whole time. It was so hot that day.

It's concert picture time again! We totally make sure to get our money's worth out of our Six Flags passes. These pics were taken at the Blondie concert. It was so hot and humid that day. We just went for the concert then went home. As you can see Deborah Harry has aged pretty well. She still sounds awesome. Loved the concert!

beach time

Here's Madison and Ryan at the beach in Sea Girt, NJ. It's a military only beach there. It wasn't crowded at all. We're planning on going there again once Jay gets back home. I wish I could have got a picture of the dolphins we saw that day!

Ryan and the guinea pig

Here's Ryan across the courtyard feeding a neighbor's guinea pig, Guinny. He was so sweet looking, I had to get a picture of him!

Here's a picture of a project Madison made for school. She had to pick a person to do a mini biography on and then make a coke bottle figure of them. She did Jack Nicholson as the Joker. I thought it was pretty awesome looking!

Pets

I haven't posted pictures of the pets in a while so I figured it was about time to put some up! Here's a pic of Missy cuddled up with Jay. He can be sweet to the animals when he feels like it. And here's Bubba in a box. He is so crazy. He used to get into boxes all the time when he was younger, but he hasn't done this for years. So I had a box in the floor, he just jumped in, got comfortable and fell asleep!
Here's pictures of Madison and Ryan at their schools' field days. I was lucky enough to get to help out their schools on those days. The kids had a lot of fun. I ran a game booth for Madison's school and I thought I was going to have a heat stroke! All the kids were so hot. On my way to Ryan's field day, I saw this chipmunk in a nearby yard. I was glad I had my camera on me! What a cutie!

Here's a couple pictures I took of the Thunderbirds when our base had it's airshow this year. We didn't actually go to the airshowW we went to the pre-show that the Thunderbirds put on for just military. It wasn't crowded at all so that was nice. We didn't want to be at the actual airshow. There was a jet crash at the last airshow we went to so we're in no hurry to experience that again!
